Our Story

Voodoo Lacrosse opened its doors in 2010 to support and facilitate the growth of the game in Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

At Voodoo our motto is “local service, online prices.” We provide the quality, experience, knowledge, and friendliness that you just can’t get if you are shopping online. The store is stocked with the latest products for both the men’s and women’s game. If you’re new to the sport, our seasoned staff can help you get everything that you’ll need – in a size and style that suites.

‘Veteran players feel free to stop in and check out the latest and greatest in gear. You can’t quite get the feel for a new shaft or arm guards if you’re shopping online, but at Voodoo you can come try things on and really see how something fits before you buy it.

Our Owners

Voodoo Lacrosse is owned and operated by the Johnson family, based out of Camden, Delaware. We are passionate about the game of lacrosse. There is nothing better than seeing a youngster who has just started playing come into the store. It can be intimidating to start something new – for parents and their kids. Let Voodoo’s staff be some of the first to welcome you into the lacrosse community. As parents, we want the best for our children and we want them to be able to pursue their dreams. But sometimes we find ourselves in uncharted territory and need a little guidance. If your family is new to the game, we can help you select exactly what you will need. Our family is invested in the lacrosse community of Delaware – it is something we love. We aren’t here to simply sell products and move inventory. We are here because lacrosse is in our hearts and we want to share it with our community.

Our Vision

The Johnson’s didn’t start out as a “lacrosse family”. With three sons named after professional baseball players (Brooks Robinson, Ryne Sandberg, and Lou Gehrig) it may seem odd that Trevor Johnson would open a lacrosse store, but in 2010 that’s exactly what he did. When asked how  his boys got involved in lacrosse, Trevor said, “They were bored to tears with baseball and met Casey and Ryan Powell at a game. They were hooked.” After seeing how much they loved the game, Trevor decided to open Voodoo Lacrosse so that the family could stay involved with the sport long-term.

All three boys went on to play in college and are currently coaching in Kent County. Brooks played at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Maryland. He is the head coach at Caesar Rodney High School and coaches with 302 Lacrosse Club. Ryne (more commonly known as Bubba) also played at The Mount. He is the offensive coordinator at Caesar Rodney, coaches at 302 Lacrosse Club, and runs Bubba Johnson22 Lacrosse Training. Gehrig played in college at DelTech and is involved with Caesar Rodney’s lacrosse program.

Delaware Lacrosse

Delaware’s lacrosse community is rapidly growing with many opportunities to play for local clubs, in high school, and at the collegiate level. Just across the Bay Bridge is perennial powerhouse – the University of Maryland. Five of the 2019 top 6 NCAA Division I schools are located in the Mid-Atlantic region: Penn State, Penn, University of Virginia, University of Maryland, and Loyola.  Delaware and the Eastern Shore are situated in a lacrosse hotbed with great teams everywhere. Voodoo Lacrosse is here to help the lacrosse community continue to grow by providing quality gear, knowledge, and resources. Come stop by the store in Camden and say hi to Trevor and the boys. Let us share our love of lacrosse with you.
